Silverdale Coop Fair trade wine evening a success

Silverdale Co-op Fairtrade wine tasting at the Gaskell hall, Silverdale

The Silverdale Gaskell Hall wine tasting evening last week was a great success by all accounts. The Cooperative let the attendees of the fairtrade event sample 6 types of wine - 3 white, 1 rose and two red wines, whilst explaining the origins and histories of the wines.

The event started with a brief introduction to the Co-op fairtrade team and what the evening would entail, wine tasting, feedback, history of the Co-op Fairtrade brand, DVD and quiz. It was then time to sample the 6 wines - A Pinot Grigio, Sauvion Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot Rose, Chillean Carmenere and an Argentinian Malbec. A short DVD presentation was shown halfway through the presentation, to space out the wine tasting. Throughout the whole tasting the fairtrade team were encouraging feedback on the wines - colour, aroma, taste, consistency etc.

After the tasting followed a short quiz and a thank you. A great night was had by all who attended.
